Often overlooked in favour of the old underlay before it, which is prone to crumble or collapse – especially in high traffic areas, new underlay has a multitude of core benefits.
Although the extra under-foot comfort is a welcome benefit of underlay, it's main purpose is to protect your carpet during it's everyday use. By absorbing some of the impact of footfall, quality underlay can prevent pile flattening and extend the lifetime of your new carpet by up to 50%.
